Each State’s Favorite Christmas Cookie!
With Christmas just days away, after presents are opened food takes center stage. Christmas cookies have already been a part of our diet for the past couple of weeks at every gathering. Someone went through Google Trends to find out each state’s favorite Christmas cookie.
“It was interesting to see how different regions of the U.S. seem to be interested in different types of cookies. The East coast seemed to favor the internationally inspired cookies in Search, while the South seemed to be searching for Christmas flavored treats, and the Midwest was searching for Christmas cookies with alternative ingredients,” Google Trends curator Annanya Raghavan told USA TODAY.
Overall, “Christmas Cookie Fudge” was the top cookie in six states: Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. “Italian Christmas Cookies” were #1 in five states: Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington, D.C.. Traditional Christmas Sugar Cookies were the favorite in just two states, Arkansas and Nevada.
