The children, aged 12 and 13 years old, broke into the auction yard around 7 p.m. and drove off with the RV, KULR reported.

Billings Police Sgt. Harley Cagle said a driver called police after seeing the lumbering vehicle driving erratically and trying to run another car off the road, KTVQ reported.

Authorities tried to stop the RV, but the driver did not stop. Officers started a pursuit that never exceeded 35 mph, KULR reported. It ended 15 minutes later after officers used spike strips to deflate three of the vehicle’s tires, safely stopping it, the Billings Gazette reported.

There were no injuries. One child was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation, KULR reported. The other child was returned to his parents.

Authorities are investigating. Cagle said charges are pending, KTVQ reported.
