NEW YORK – Three dozen adults were injured early Thursday when a yellow school bus overturned in New York City, authorities said.

According to WABC-TV and WNBC-TV, the rollover crash occurred shortly after 6 a.m. near Exit 1A along Hutchinson River Parkway in the Bronx. Authorities said the driver lost control while trying to exit the parkway, causing the bus to topple onto its side, WNBC reported.

First responders said three adults were seriously hurt but are in stable condition, WPIX-TV reported. The remaining 33 adults suffered minor injuries, according to WNBC and WPIX.

Officials said no children were on the bus at the time of the crash, WABC reported. A private business apparently had been using the bus to transport its adult employees, according to the news outlet.
