SAN JOSE, Calif. – A California woman arrested after a deadly crash is accused of causing the crash while trying to flee the scene of an earlier collision.

Officers with the San Jose Police Department said Lynn Nguyen was responsible for two hit-and-run crashes in minutes, KTVU reported.

Police say Nguyen was driving a 2005 BMW when she crashed into a Prius, killing the driver of the Prius, KNTV reported. Police said Nguyen kept driving after hitting the car, only stopping when her car stalled out.

During their investigation, San Jose police officers determined the BMW was involved in another accident nearby that did not cause any injuries, KPIX reported.

San Jose has had 58 traffic fatalities so far this year, nearing the city’s record of 60 set in 2015, KTVU reported.
