Blink 182’s Travis Barker rushed to hospital with pancreatitis, reports say
The Blink 182 drummer explained in a series of Instagram Story and Twitter posts that he endured a scheduled endoscopy Monday “feeling great” but deteriorated into “excruciating pain” following dinner that night. He was hospitalized Tuesday and remained at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles four days later.
“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in the very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis,” Barker, 46, wrote.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, pancreatitis is a redness and swelling of the pancreas caused by digestive juices or enzymes attacking the pancreas. Symptoms include severe belly pain, nausea, vomiting, rapid heart rate and fever.
Barker’s wife, Kourtney Kardashian, also took to her Instagram Story and opened up about the scary episode, ET reported.
“Oh what a scary and emotional week it has been,” she wrote, adding, “Our health is everything, and sometimes we take for granted how quickly it can change. Travis and I went in for a routine endoscopy together, and he ended up with severe, life-threatening pancreatitis.”
“I am so grateful to God for healing my husband, for all of your prayers for him and for us, for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support. I am so touched and appreciative,” she concluded her post, according to Fox News.
According to People magazine, Barker was hospitalized and readmitted in 2018 for blood clots found in each arm, as well as a staph infection and cellulitis, a bacterial infection that can cause swelling, inflammation and pain.
The drummer also survived a 2008 plane crash that left him with third-degree burns covering 65% of his body, according to the Times.
Barker told Men’s Health in 2021 that the plane crash, which killed four of six passengers, prompted him to stop using prescription drugs.
