SEATTLE – A man is recovering after he was shot in the face and the abdomen over a crossbow on Friday near Seattle, Washington.

According to KIRO, the Seattle Police Department said on Friday just before 9 p.m. a man called 911 to report an injured driver who flagged him down. When officers arrived, they located the injured driver.

It appeared to police that he had been shot in the face and abdomen, according to KIRO. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. KIRO said the extent of his injuries is unknown.

The injured driver told police that he was sitting in his car, which was parked behind a building. According to KIRO, the driver said a man came up to his car and demanded to have his crossbow, which was visible on the passenger seat.

The driver refused to give it over, which is when the man shot him, according to KIRO. The injured driver then drove off and flagged down another driver to call 911.

No suspect description has been released. The investigation is ongoing.
