Idaho father, stepmom charged after 9-year-old boy’s death, police say
MERIDIAN, Idaho – A father and stepmother in Idaho are facing felony child injury charges after a 9-year-old boy died earlier this week, authorities said.
According to KTVB and KIVI, Meridian police arrested Erik Emmanuel Osuna, 29, and Monique Osuna, 27, after authorities found the man’s son unresponsive in a Broadway Avenue home shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. The child, who investigators believe had been abused, was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, the news outlets reported.
The Osunas are being held in the Ada County Jail, police said.
Officials found three other children in the home and placed them in state custody, according to the news outlets.
No further information was immediately available about the ongoing investigation, police said.
