CCISD will be closed next week, March 16 to March 20.

Conroe ISD will be closed next week March 16 to March 20.

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD 

Cy-Fair ISD will close all schools and facilities next week. Beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, March 13 until Sunday, March 22, all CFISD schools and facilities, including the Berry Center, will be closed. The district plans to resume on Monday, March 23.

Danbury ISD 

Danbury ISD schools will be closed from March 16 to March 20.

Deer Park ISD

Deer Park ISD is canceling school for next week, March 16 to March 20.

Dickinson ISD 

Dickinson ISD is closed March 16 to March 20.

Fort Bend ISD

Fort Bend ISD is suspending classes for at least two weeks following Spring Break. During this period, the district will finalize online learning logistics and training for staff.

Friendswood ISD

Friendswood ISD will be closed from March 16 to March 20.

Galena Park ISD 

Galena Park ISD has canceled classes, activities, events, competitions and practices for Monday, March 16 to Sunday, March 22.

Galveston ISD 

Galveston ISD will be closed the week March 16 to March 20.

Hempstead ISD

Hempstead ISD will remain closed through March 20.

Hitchcock ISD

Hitchcock ISD and all school districts in Galveston County will be closed next week, March 16 to March 20.

Houston ISD

Houston ISD will close all schools and district offices beginning Friday, March 13 until Monday, March 30, 2020. Classes will resume Tuesday, March 31.

Beginning on March 23, HISD will temporarily limit all campus visitors, including parents and volunteers. Parents will only be allowed on campus to pick up or drop off their children. Visitors will be screened by an HISD nurse.

All after-school activities will be canceled during the time.

Humble ISD will be closed from March 16 to March 20.

Huntsville ISD

All Huntsville ISD campuses will remain closed from March 16 to March 20. All school activities and events will be canceled during this time.

Katy ISD

Katy ISD is postponing returning from Spring Break by at least one week. All campus events, field trips, student trips and UIL practices and competitions are postponed effective Friday, March 13, 2020, through Sunday, March 22, 2020. “We will keep our community informed on whether the temporary closure will need to extend beyond March 22,” the district said in a statement.

Klein ISD

All Klein ISD schools will be closed Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20.

Lamar CISD

All Lamar CISD schools and facilities will be closed from March 16 to March 20.

La Porte ISD 

La Porte ISD is canceling school for the week of March 16. This also includes all extracurricular and co-curricular activities beginning Friday, March 13.

Montgomery ISD

Out of an abundance of caution, Montgomery ISD is closing all of its schools early for Spring Break. All campuses will be closed Thursday (March 12) and Friday (March 13) for proper deep cleaning. Also, all travel-related events for students are canceled.

Needville ISD 

Needville ISD will be closed and all extracurricular activities are suspended the week of March 16 to March 20.

New Caney ISD 

New Caney ISD will be closed March 16 – 20. All extracurricular activities and athletic events during that period have been postponed.

New Waverly ISD

New Waverly ISD will be closed March 16- 20.

Pasadena ISD

Pasadena ISD will be closed from March 16 to March 20.

Pearland ISD

Spring ISD

Spring Branch ISD

Spring Branch ISD will be closed Friday, March 13 will be off next week for Spring Break through Sunday, March 22.

Texas City ISD will be closed from March 16 to March 20. All school activities/events are also canceled.

Tomball ISD

Tomball ISD will be closed March 16 to March 20 and will delay returning from Spring BReak until march 23.

Varnett Public School 

Varnett will close all schools and facilities from Friday, March 13, through Friday, March 30.

Waller ISD

All Waller ISD (WISD) schools and offices will be closed from March 16 through March 20.

Willis ISD 

Willis ISD will remain closed March 16 to March 20.

Texas universities and colleges

Alvin Community College

Alvin Community College will be closed from March 16 to March 21. Classes are tentatively set to resume March 23.

Baylor University

Baylor University has extended its Spring Break for a week and classes will resume Monday, March 23; however, classes will be provided strictly in an online environment for a two-week period from March 23 through April 3.

Brazosport College

Brazosport College campus closed is next week with classes set to resume on March 23.

Galveston College

Galveston College will extend the 2020 spring break for students for one week, March 16 to March 20. No online or in-person classes will be held during this week. Classes are set to resume Monday, March 23, strictly in an online environment. It is hoped face-to-face classes will resume on April 6.

Houston Baptist University

HBU will not hold any residential classes for the week of March 16 to March 21. Online classes will continue as scheduled.

The residential class schedule will resume remotely (online or alternative format) beginning March 23 until further notice.

Houston Community College

HCC has decided to cancel all classes Friday, March 13, through Spring Break for students. Coleman College and the Fraga Academic Building are completely closed to all students, faculty and staff. For students that had tests scheduled this weekend, HCC is working on a plan to reschedule tests.

While classes have been canceled, locations – except Coleman College and the Fraga Academic building – are open. All classes are set to resume Wednesday, March 25. Faculty and staff are still required to report into work starting Monday, March, 23.

Lee College

Lee College has canceled both in-person and online classes for March 16 to March 22. Classes are set to resume remotely (online, hybrid, or in an alternative format) beginning March 23.

Lone Star College

Lone Star College is extending Spring Break by one week and plans to resume classes Monday, March 23.

Prairie View A&M University

The university suspended classes until March 23.

Faculty and staff are still required to report to work.

Rice University

Effective March 23, all classes will shift to a remote learning format. All students who have left campus for the break are strongly encouraged not to return, and all who live on campus and remain in Houston are encouraged to return home or remain in Houston in their off-campus location for the duration of the semester. Only those students who meet select criteria and petition to do so will be allowed to continue living on campus for the remainder of this semester.

All university-sponsored spring break student trips including Alternative Spring Break (ASB), ROPE program trips and all other service and non-service student organization trips are canceled.

Saint Thomas University in Houston

UST cancels class at noon today through Friday, Mar. 13. The campus remains open. The following week is Spring Break. Classes move online on Mon, Mar 23.

Students will hear from their professors regarding times for makeup exams and online assignments. As that week approaches, UST will assess whether there is a need to continue with online delivery beyond that point.

Sam Houston State University

The university has suspended all study abroad programs until August, and all university-funded international travel for faculty, staff and students has been canceled through May.

San Jacinto College

San Jacinto College will not hold classes March 16 – 20, to allow faculty and staff to prepare for providing classes and services online, in small groups and by appointment, in line with the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines regarding social distancing. The campuses will be closed next week to students and visitors, with the exception of the childcare centers on the Central and North Campuses. Employees are expected to report to work.

South Texas College of Law Houston

STCL Houston has canceled all on-campus classes and will conduct classes solely in an online format due to concerns over the spread of coronavirus in Houston.

The law school will re-evaluate the situation the week of March 23 following Spring Break, which is scheduled from March 16 to 20.

Texas A&M University

Texas A&M University is canceling classes from March 16 to March 20. They will move to online classes from March 23 to April 28. Campus community meetings and events are now restricted to less than 50 participants.

Texas Southern University

For the remainder of this week, Texas Southern University is operating on a normal schedule. Following Spring Break (March 16-22), classes will resume remotely (online or alternative format) beginning Monday, March 23, until further notice.

Texas State University

Texas State University is extending spring break for students one week and will move courses to remote delivery through April 12 to enable social distancing measures on our campus.

Texas Tech University

Classes are canceled March 23 to 27 and will resume March 30 with online instruction.

Campus buildings will remain open, and most campus operations will proceed normally, including student housing, dining services, and support operations.

Students may stay on campus during Spring Break. Residence halls will operate as usual. Dining facilities will continue with the services at designated locations based on demand. Information on locations and hours of service is posted on their website.

Trinity University

Trinity University says it will extend its spring break through March 22 and close its residence halls for full-time occupancy for the rest of the spring semester. On March 23, the university will transition to synchronous remote teaching for all classes for the rest of the spring semester.

University of Houston

UH classes are canceled for next week. The university will remain open, but faculty and staff have the option to work remotely. Classes will resume online on March 23. Resident students are encouraged to stay home, but dorms are open for those returning.

University of Houston-Clear Lake

Classes in person and online, including lectures, seminars, discussions and/or presentations, will not be held March 16 to March 21. Beginning March 23, classes will be offered remotely — online or alternative format — until further notice.

Students are encouraged to stay home. Hunter Hall and dining services will be open for those deciding to return from Spring Break. Student Housing and Residential Life will be available, and all protocols regarding sanitation and hygiene to prevent the spread of the virus are being followed.

Faculty and staff may work from home to the extent that they are able to perform their functions remotely and with prior approval from their supervisor and Human Resources. All UH-Clear Lake campuses will remain open, and all offices and services will continue to operate until further notice. Research labs will be open, and related services will remain in operation.

Events and programming funded and sponsored by UH-Clear Lake are canceled through April 30. If you have an event planned during the month of April that cannot be rescheduled, please consult with the vice president of your division.

University of Houston-Downtown

The University of Houston System has implemented a Travel Policy and COVID-19 Exposure Prevention Policy in response to the Coronavirus.

University of Houston-Katy

The University of Houston-Katy will start its spring break early at noon on Thursday. All face-to-face and online classes are canceled.

Offices at both UHK will open. UHK spring break for students starts Monday, so no classes are scheduled next week.

Decisions about classes after spring break will be made and communicated next week.

University of Houston-Victoria

The University of Houston-Victoria will start its spring break early at noon on Thursday. All face-to-face and online classes are canceled.

University of the Incarnate Word

University of the Incarnate Word has extended Spring Break through the week of March 16. Beginning March 23, classes for the remainder of the semester will be online.

University of Texas at Austin

UT Austin has closed operations and canceled classes. Admissions has suspended campus visits, Admission Welcome Center tours, and in-person events until further notice and will soon be announcing a number of online and virtual options for prospective students and their families

The university said undergraduate university-sponsored student travel for spring break, Maymester and Summer programs is suspended to France, Germany, and Spain in addition to countries on the CDC travel warning list.

University of Texas-San Antonio

UTSA is extending Spring Break for students through the week of March 15. Starting on March 23, all classes will be conducted online. Campuses will remain open with social distancing practices in place for public events, involving more than 50 people.

Wharton County Junior College

Wharton County Junior College will extend Spring Break for all campuses through March 22. College activities are canceled, and dormitories will remain closed through March 21.
