The Transportation Security Administration shared photos on Twitter of items that were brought by a single passenger through security at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. In the photo, box cutters, knives, a buzz saw blade and a meat cleaver are visible.

In the post, the TSA said: “Sharp objects, including meat cleavers, are not allowed in your carry-on bag & should be sheathed or securely wrapped in checked baggage.”

While some tools are allowed on flights, the tools must measure 7 inches or less and cannot have sharp blades, WMAQ reported.

In a 2021 blog post about prohibited items, the TSA said: “If we had a nickel for every knife we see in a carry-on bag, well, we’d all be retired and off living on some beautiful island by now. Only butter knives without serrated edges are good to travel in your carry-on luggage. Let’s be as clear as we can possibly be: Sharp knives including pocket butterfly knives cannot go in your carry-on.”
