According to The Associated Press per a statement from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Luke Williams Ferguson, 31, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole plus 84 years for the shooting deaths of his father, Douglas Ferguson, 59, and his father’s girlfriend, Lisa Cosenza, 51, on October 12, 2017.

Prosecutors said that Luke shot Douglas twice with a handgun. According to the AP, that handgun was owned by Douglas. Then, Luke shot Lisa in the head. He then shot Todd Kuchar and Brandon Dufault who were both roommates.

According to the AP, Dufault was blinded by glass following Luke kicking down a bathroom door. Dufault was then shot multiple times while in the shower.

Luke then led police on a chase in Inglewood, California and was eventually arrested, said the AP.

It was argued that Luke wanted to kill people in the house because he felt tired of people telling him to go get a job, said the AP. Luke had moved into the house about six weeks before the shooting.

Luke was convicted in July of first-degree murder and attempted murder, plus “special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and sentencing enhancements for personally firing a gun and causing great bodily injury or death,” according to the AP.
