For those who have concerns about the process, there is some reassuring news. Voters in every state can track their ballots once they are mailed.

While each state has a different tracking method, generally, you will be asked your name, address, and date of birth or social security number. You may also need your ballot tracking number, a number that is generally on the envelope in which you return your ballot to election officials.

Once you give the information you are asked for, you will get a message about the status of your ballot.
