Hyland, 31, who played Haley Dunphy in 234 episodes of “Modern Family” from 2009 to 2020, had been in a relationship with Adams, 38, the former “Bachelorette” and “Bachelor in Paradise” contestant since the fall of 2017, People reported.
The couple originally met on social media, according to the magazine.
They met in person for the first time just three days before Hyland had her second kidney transplant in early 2017, Entertainment Tonight reported. Diagnosed with kidney dysplasia, Hyland had her first kidney transplant surgery in 2012. Her father donated his kidney to his daughter when she was 12, according to the National Kidney Foundation.

In August 2021, Adams told the magazine that he and Hyland were “hoping” to get married in 2022.
“We were supposed to get married obviously last year, that didn’t happen,” Adams told People. “We were supposed to get married this year, that didn’t happen.”
In June, the “Vampire Academy” actress had her bridal shower, posting about it in an Instagram story post, Us magazine reported.
