FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – Police say they are searching for a man who allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend in their Fulton County, Georgia house with her son home at the time of the incident.
Johns Creek police officers are searching for a suspect after two people were shot at a house in Fulton County Monday morning. JCPD said, according to WSB-TV, that officers arrived at the scene just after 2:40 a.m. and found two victims.
Police identified the victims as Heather Quiggle and her boyfriend, Jerrold Knight, according to WSB-TV. Quiggle’s son was reportedly home during the incident and police say he jumped out of his window when he heard the gunshots. He ran to a neighbor’s house to get help.
The suspect was identified as Abdul Batin Rashid by police, according to WSB-TV. Rashid allegedly left the scene by the time officers arrived at the house. Police are searching for Rashid. They say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Detectives are working on getting arrest warrants put together for Rashid for a count of aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act, a count of aggravated assault, a count of burglary, a count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and a count of a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, according to WSB-TV.
JCPD in a news release said Rashid is the former boyfriend of Quiggle. He a Black man, 5′07″, 175 pounds, has graying hair and has a close-cut beard. He was last seen driving a dark grey 2011 BMW 5501.
Quiggle and Knight were both taken to the hospital for treatment. According to WSB-TV, they are both in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
