The Shelby County District Attorney says Michael D. Robinson, 32, has been charged with first-degree murder, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and tampering with evidence. Robinson allegedly killed his girlfriend’s son, Zaqune Harris, 18, on July 12, 2021.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. at Harris’ home where he lived with his mother, according to the SCDA.

WHBQ says Robinson and Harris got into an argument about a $5. Investigators learned that Robinson allegedly went to his car and grabbed a gun before shooting Harris in the chest. Investigators told WHBQ that they believe Robinson afterward put the gun back in the car and moved the car from the area. Harris died soon after the paramedics arrived.

The SCDA says Robinson has a prior conviction for aggravated assault. He is being held without bond.
