According to WPBN and WWTV, Skyler Warner, 21, of Shepherd, is facing charges of second-degree child abuse and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder in connection with the incident, which occurred last week.

Michigan State Police said they responded to a South Mission Road home about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a call about a cord wrapped around an infant’s neck, WPBN reported. The 2-month-old baby was rushed to a nearby hospital and released after receiving treatment, authorities said.

Authorities arrested Warner on Thursday and booked her into the Isabella County Jail, where she remained early Monday, according to the jail’s website. Her bond was set at $20,000, WPBN reported.
