Alabama boy, 4, dies after suffering critical injuries in drive-by shooting
TUSKEGEE, Ala. – A 4-year-old Alabama boy has died after he was shot in the head over the weekend, authorities said.
According to WSFA-TV, Davion Tarver died Monday, less than two days after he was hospitalized with critical injuries following a drive-by shooting at the Pleasant Street Apartments in Tuskegee. A stray bullet struck the boy about 5 p.m. Saturday, Tuskegee police said.
“Shortly after 10:45 a.m. Davion Tarver passed away,” Tuskegee police wrote in a Facebook post Monday afternoon. “We are saddened by this news and ask everyone to pray for the family.”
Police said Joshua Washington, 18, who was arrested Sunday on a charge of attempted murder, now faces a murder charge in the case, WSFA reported. He remains in the Macon County Jail, according to the news station.
