Toddler killed in Las Vegas shooting, police say

LAS VEGAS – A 3-year-old boy is dead following a shooting in Las Vegas, authorities said.

According to KVVU-TV and the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. PST Wednesday in a South Arlington Street apartment complex. Lt. David Valenta with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the child’s father and other adults were in a parking lot when one man in the group began “manipulating a firearm,” which discharged, the Review-Journal reported. The toddler was struck and later died at a nearby hospital, authorities said.

Police had not arrested anyone in connection with the case as of 11 p.m. Wednesday; however, the investigation is ongoing, according to the news outlets.
