Pot shop employee stops attempted robbery with bear spray
EVERETT, Wash. – People who tried to rob a Washington pot shop were stopped in their tracks by an employee armed with a special can of spray.
That can was bear spray.
Chris Vincent was not about to be bossed around by a bunch of intruders. “This guy was coming toward me. I sprayed him,” Vincent said.
“That is the first time I’ve shot bear spray. I’ve done pepper spray before, but that is a whole new level of hurt,” Vincent said.
Vincent, a proud military brat, knew just what to use when three thieves came barging into his pot shop.
In surveillance video footage, it shows Vincent using the spray on the wanna-be robbers who were no match for the spray of the wild.
“I was going after them. I was going for the eyeballs.”
It was the second time his shop was hit in only a week.
“I don’t want to cause any problems for customers because it does scare them … and we can’t have that.”
In the video, each person bolted for the exit and then sped away in a vehicle.
The suspected thieves didn’t get away with anything, and he believes they are the same people who robbed his store a few weeks back.
Vincent doubts they’ll be back after Sunday’s encounter.
“I don’t know of a word to use, but they ran like chickens!”
