Mindy: Storm downgraded to tropical depression

Tropical Storm Mindy formed in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday and quickly made landfall on the Florida Panhandle, the National Hurricane Center said. It was downgraded to a tropical depression early Thursday.
