OSHKOSH, Wis. – A Wisconsin sixth-grader was honored for his fast reaction after he noticed his teacher was having a stroke.
The department noted that Paxton, whose last name was not revealed, noticed that Greg Martin, his teacher and the school’s technology director, was having a difficult time communicating with his class, WGBA-TV reported.
According to the fire department, Paxton notified another adult about his teacher’s distress, and first responders determined that Martin, who also coaches soccer and robotics at the school, was having a stroke.
The boy’s quick thinking saved his teacher’s life, fire officials said.
“Way to go, Paxton,” the fire department wrote on Facebook. “We’re so proud of you.”
