According to the lawsuit, which was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the woman, identified as Jane Doe, alleged that the incident occurred after she attended a concert by the musician on May 29, 2013, NBC News reported.
The accuser alleged that Snoop Dogg and his friend Donald Campbell, also known as Bishop Don Magic Juan, separately assaulted her over a 24-hour period, Billboard reported. The woman claimed that she wound up at Campbell’s residence against her wishes and was sexually assaulted, according to Rolling Stone.
The woman claimed she was not hired again because she rebuffed both men’s advances, Billboard reported.

The lawsuit against Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., is for a violation of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, sexual battery and sexual assault, according to The Guardian. Campbell is also named in the lawsuit.
The woman’s attorney, Matt Finkelberg, said in a statement that she “refuses to be silenced and intimidated any longer.”
“Our client’s hope is to inspire other victims of sexual harassment, assault, and battery to understand that they have rights, will be protected, and although they are victims, they will not have to be silenced forever,” Finkelberg said.

Representatives for Snoop Dogg and Campbell did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Snoop Dogg is currently scheduled to perform as part of the Super Bowl LVI halftime show on Sunday with Dr Dre., Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar.
Snoop Dogg appeared at a Super Bowl news conference Thursday but did not address the lawsuit, NBC News reported. He did not take any questions.
He deleted an Instagram post in which he wrote: “Gold digger season is here … be careful nefews (Snoop Dogg’s name for fans). … keep ya guards up. … And. Keep ya circle small.”
Snoop Dogg was previously sued by makeup artist Kylie Bell, who alleged the rapper and members of his entourage sexually assaulted her in 2003, Rolling Stone reported. Shortly before filing her complaint, Bell was sued by Snoop Dogg for extortion, the magazine reported.
Bell later dropped her lawsuit, explaining in a statement that “the matter has been resolved amicably.”
