Alexus Williams is facing capital murder charges for the deaths of 6-year-old Harmony Carhee and her parents, Donyavia Lagway and Gregory Carhee, KRIV reported.

A 10-year-old girl was shot and critically wounded at the time, surviving only by playing dead while she held her 1-year-old brother who had been thrown across the room, KHOU reported.

Prosecutors say Williams had an affair with Lagway, but the latter ended it and went back to her husband, KHOU reported. That was when prosecutors say Williams hired Xavier Davis to kill the family, and told him he could have all the money he found in their apartment, KHOU reported.

“For Xavier Davis, the motive was simply money. What we’ve been able to gather is that Alexus Williams promised him that there were several thousand dollars in that apartment,” Sean Teare, of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, told KPRC. “She told him that whatever he was able to get was his. It was simply greed for Xavier Davis.”

Investigators said when Xavier Davis went into the house to kill the family, he was on FaceTime with Alexus Williams, KPRC reported. “We know that Xavier Davis was in that apartment for a number of minutes. We know that for the vast majority of those minutes he was on FaceTime with Alexus Williams,” Teare told KPRC. “She was able to watch either the murders or either the immediate aftermath of the murders.”

Davis was arrested in July 2021, KTRK reported.

Williams appeared in court Thursday, where a judge denied her bond, and noted that Williams had attended the funeral for the victims, KTRK reported.

The little girl who survived, now age 11, is being cared for by her grandmothers, KHOU reported.
