LINCOLN, Neb. – A Nebraska woman paid it forward in a big way Tuesday night, donating enough money to pay for the orders placed by more than two dozen vehicles behind her in a Chick-fil-A drive-thru in Lincoln.

“To the generous customer that left $400 in the drive-thru tonight with instructions to pay for as many meals as possible for the cars behind her … you paid for all of the meals for 26 consecutive cars!” Charlie Colón, owner of the chain’s SouthPointe Pavilions location, wrote in a Wednesday tweet.

He then thanked her for her generosity and kindness, saying it was incredible for employees to witness the reactions “and a tremendous life lesson for all of us as to how one person makes a difference!” the Lincoln Journal Star reported.

Chick-fil-A employees told KLKN they were shocked when the woman, who wished to remain anonymous, handed them $400, asking only that the money pay for as many meals as possible.

“Everyone just stopped for a minute, and she said, ‘Merry Christmas’ and drove away,” Colón told the TV station.

“It was special for a couple of reasons: One, our team gets to see that firsthand. And secondly, to be able to witness those customers and what it does for them in the moment, regardless of how little or how big, is incredible, and it’s one of the reasons I love Lincoln,” Colón told KLKN.

“I just hope it inspired someone in those cars to do the same thing. I can promise you what it does for our team. And those life lessons we learn every day, regardless of age, help us think about that the next time we’re in a drive-thru,” he added.
