DALTON, N.H. – A state trooper is in the hospital and a suspect has died following a shooting in New Hampshire, authorities said.
According to WFXT, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is investigating the incident, which occurred Wednesday in Dalton.
“Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald announces that authorities are responding to a deadly shooting incident involving a state trooper and an adult male in Dalton, New Hampshire,” the office said in a news release late Wednesday. “The adult male is deceased. The state trooper was shot and transported to a hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.”

In a statement early Thursday, New Hampshire State Police said the department “is unable to comment on an active investigation being conducted by the attorney general,” but urged the public to “keep the trooper and their family in your thoughts and prayers.”
