Alabama shooting: Toddler in serious condition, mother hurt after shots fired in Birmingham
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A toddler is in serious condition after he and his mother were shot in Alabama, authorities said.
According to WIAT and WVTM, the shooting occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday at an apartment on John Bryan Road in Birmingham. Birmingham police said someone outside fired shots into the home, striking a woman and her 2-year-old son, the news outlets reported.
The child was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is in serious condition, according to WVTM. The woman’s wounds were not considered life-threatening, authorities said.
