TYLER, Texas – Police have arrested a Texas couple following the death of their 3-year-old child.
According to KYTX and KLTV, Tyler police arrested Courtnie Williams, 30, and Manuel Williams, 39, of Tyler, on felony child injury charges Thursday, one day after their toddler died.
Police said the Tyler Fire Department responded to a North Glenwood Boulevard home about 10 p.m. Wednesday to find a child who had suffered “visible trauma,” KLTV reported. Rescue crews performed CPR and rushed the child to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced the toddler dead, police said.
Police took the child’s parents to the Smith County Jail, where they are being held on $1 million bond, the news outlets reported. The couple may face murder charges depending on the autopsy results, according to KYTX.
