Man in Massachusetts facing charges in connection with a 2011 murder
HYANNIS, Mass. – A man in Massachusetts was arrested last week and is facing charges in connection with a murder that happened in 2011, officials say.
Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois announced in a news release that Devarus Hampton, 40, was charged on Friday with murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for the murder of Todd Lampley on Feb. 27, 2011.
Barnstable Police Department officers were called to 42 Fresh Holes Road in Hyannis, Massachusetts, on Feb. 27, 2011, for a report of a shooting. Officers found Lampley bleeding and unconscious in one of the bedrooms, according to WFXT. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The charges come after a lengthy investigation by the Massachusetts State Police, Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office, and Barnstable Police Department, according to the DA’s office.
