Ikea plans to open 17 new stores in the United States, according to an announcement Thursday from the Swedish home goods company.

According to the retailer, the company will spend more than $2.2 billion over three years on the expansion in the U.S. Ikea has 50 stores in the U.S. now.

Ikea did not announce where the new stores will be built, only that there will be eight full-size stores and nine “Plan and Order” points.

Plan and Order stores are smaller outlets dedicated to kitchen, bedroom and living room projects, according to Ikea.

“The U.S. is one of our most important markets, and we see endless opportunities to grow there and get closer to the many Americans with affordable products and services,” Tolga Öncü, head of IKEA Retail, Ingka Group, said.

The company will also create 900 new pick-up locations where customers can collect their online orders, according to the statement.
