Houston — Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and ConocoPhillips reached an agreement to extend their partnership, according to a Tuesday press release. The five-year extension keeps the oil and gas company as Rodeo Run‘s official sponsor through 2029.
ConocoPhillips first began sponsoring Rodeo Run in 1988.
“For 36 years, the Rodeo Run has been woven into the tradition of the Rodeo and we are thrilled to continue the partnership with the renowned ConocoPhillips to keep it going,” Chris Boleman, president and CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo said. “The excitement that comes with the Rodeo Run helps set the tone for the Rodeo season that follows. Witnessing so many people joining in on the fun and giving back to the Rodeo’s mission makes me proud as leader of the organization and even more proud to be a Houstonian.”
The Rodeo Run draws in proceeds that go to benefit the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The run precedes the Downtown Rodeo Parade, starting with the wheelchair race and followed by the timed and untimed 5K and 10K runs. There’s also a Sleep-In option for those that can’t make the start of the earlier events but still wish to participate.
The 2025 Rodeo Run presented by ConocoPhillips is scheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2025. Registration for the all races opens Nov. 15 at 10 am, and is available until all events sell out.
