Dierks Bentley is back with a breakup anthem that’s equal parts hilarious and hard-hitting.
His latest single, “She Hates Me,” mixes grungy rock vibes with classic country storytelling, making it the perfect soundtrack for anyone feeling anti-Valentine’s Day this year.
Much like his 2014 hit “Drunk On A Plane,” Bentley’s new song tells the story of a man blindsided by heartbreak. The lyrics paint a picture of a guy who thought he had it all figured out—until his ex made it very clear she wasn’t coming back.
With edgy guitar riffs and a high-energy beat, the song leans into the frustration of lost love while keeping a fun, lighthearted tone.
Bentley co-wrote “She Hates Me” with Ashley Gorley, Ross Copperman, Chase McGill, Wesley Scantlin, and Jimmy Allen. It was originally just a joke during a songwriting session, but after his family and friends couldn’t stop listening, he knew it had to be shared with fans.

A Must-Watch Music Video
To go along with the single, Bentley dropped a hilarious music video that turns heartbreak into a full-blown nightmare. Throughout the video, he’s haunted by memories of his ex—who makes sure he knows exactly how much she despises him.
She trashes his house, wrecks his car, and even shows up at the bar when he tries to escape. No matter where he turns, she’s there to remind him: she hates him.
