We’ve likely all been “ghosted” in one way or another – whether by friends, family, partners, etc. Some of us have even been ghosted by people we just met, including country music star Ernest Keith Smith (ERNEST).
According to a video Smith posted to his Instagram account Thursday, fellow country music star Tyler Childers ghosted him and a group of other country artists after they showed up to meet the singer-songwriter at an undisclosed bar in East Nashville. On the night Smith, along with Ashley Gorely, Charlie Handsome, Austin Post (Post Malone), Morgan Wallen and Chandler Walters wrote their No. 1 hit song I Had Some Help, Childers texted Post “come meet us at a bar.”
Post allegedly responded back to Childers that he was “bringing the fellas,” and the group preceded to head to the bar where the All Your’n singer was located.
Upon getting to the bar, Smith claims he was the first to walk in while Post and Wallen were engaging with fans outside the entrance. Smith introduced himself to Childers and told him “the boys are right behind me; they’re coming in.”
According to Smith, Childers looked in the direction that Smith motioned to where Post and Wallen were located. Upon seeing them, Childers allegedly leaned over to his friend, saying something Smith couldn’t hear, and then offered Smith his seat. Once Smith accepted, Childers reportedly walked out of the bar.

Smith summed up the alleged encounter with a cryptic explanation for why the ghosting may have occurred:
“And then I turn around and he walks out the other side of the bar, not to be heard from or seen again,” Smith said in a video posted to his instagram account. “[Childers] didn’t text Post back. None of that. [He] just went M.I.A. And I get it; politics.”
It’s not entirely clear why Childers would have suddenly ghosted Smith, who he had just met for the first time, or Post, who he invited to the bar, allegedly.
Smith wrote “I still love you @timmytychilders,” tagging the country singer. In a comment on the video, Smith added more cryptic context to the story, saying “Let’s be clear: I respect it.”

In response to a comment on his video requesting more context, Smith tagged the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast and country music website Whiskey Riff.
