Morgan Wallen Set to Return to ‘Saturday Night Live’
Morgan Wallen is making his way back to Saturday Night Live (SNL), marking his second appearance on the legendary late-night show.
Wallen Returns to SNL on March 29
On March 19, it was announced that the country superstar will serve as the musical guest for the March 29 episode of SNL. Wallen joins an impressive lineup of upcoming performers, including Lizzo, Elton John, and Brandi Carlile. The show will also feature hosts Mikey Madison, Jack Black, and Jon Hamm.
Wallen will appear alongside Mikey Madison, an Oscar-winning actress, as part of the highly anticipated episode. His return comes after his SNL debut in December 2020, where he performed fan-favorite tracks “7 Summers” and “Still Goin Down.”
Wallen’s Memorable First Appearance on SNL
His initial SNL performance came two months later than planned. Originally set to perform in October 2020, his appearance was canceled after videos surfaced online showing him partying in Alabama, violating the show’s COVID-19 protocols. Wallen later issued a public apology and was invited back to perform that December.
During his rescheduled episode, SNL took a lighthearted approach by incorporating Wallen’s situation into a comedic sketch. The skit, set in an Alabama bar, featured guest host Jason Bateman playing a version of Wallen from the future. Bowen Yang also joined as another future Wallen, while Pete Davidson portrayed a random bar-goer acting as the voice of reason. The sketch poked fun at the controversy, ultimately allowing Wallen to redeem himself with both humor and music.
New Music on the Way
Wallen’s SNL return follows a major update he recently shared with fans: his new album is “officially done.”
The country star teased an unreleased track, “Just In Case,” as part of a string of song previews he’s been sharing across Instagram.
He promised more details would be announced in the coming days.
He also just announced a new album coming on May 16, 2025!
Wallen’s 2025 Tour Plans
For fans eager to catch Morgan Wallen live, his 2025 I’m The Problem Tour is the must-see event of the year.
With only 20 scheduled shows, along with his inaugural Sand In My Boots Festival, these performances will be the only opportunities to see Wallen live in 2025.
The tour will feature an all-star lineup of country artists, including Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, and Koe Wetzel. Emerging talents like Gavin Adcock, Corey Kent, Ella Langley, and Anne Wilson will also join him on select dates.
With new music on the horizon and an SNL appearance just weeks away, Morgan Wallen continues to be one of country music’s most talked-about artists in 2025.
