Morgan Wallen has been a hot topic of conversation since his recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, and even the Empire State Building’s TikTok account decided to chime in on the ongoing saga. Wallen was on SNL to promote his upcoming album; I’m the Problem.

Wallen appeared on last Saturday’s edition of the sketch-comedy show, where the country music star broke from SNL tradition and abruptly left the stage early as the end credits rolled. This of course led to many on social media dissecting the event, even going as far to have lip readers decipher what Wallen said to guest host Mikey Madison. Where this story really gets off the rails is Wallen posting a cryptic photo on his from a private jet on his Instagram story, saying “Get me to God’s country.”

This cryptic message proceeding his SNL appearance can be taken many different ways, especially since Wallen really hasn’t commented on the situation beyond capitalizing on the moment by selling merchandise with his now-famous quote printed upon various items. Whether it was a shot at SNL, New York City or Wallen just antsy to get home after being away, the Empire State Building’s infamously-comical social media accounts wanted to throw their hat into the ring.

The skyscraper’s TikTok account posted a video from its top deck during sunset with Wallen’s quote and his new single, Sand in My Boots, playing in the background. Whatever Wallen meant by his quote, it’s another great meme by the Empire State Building’s social media team.

In defense of the country music star, someone close to him told TMZ that Wallen meant nothing by his early exit from SNL, and that the way he exited was the same way he had done during rehearsals:

“We’re told he entered and exited the studio the same way he did Saturday night during rehearsal and camera blocking all week leading up to the live show… so he routinely headed that way when he thought it was time to go,” TMZ said in their article.

One way or another, I’d say its mission accomplished on the promotion of I’m the Problem.
