Bailey Zimmerman has made it clear: if you’re not dog-approved, you’re not date-approved.

In a recent Instagram teaser for his unreleased song “Comin In Cold,” Zimmerman dropped a major red flag when it comes to dating.

Alongside a clip of his two beloved dogs, Marley May and Pie, he wrote, “If my dogs don’t like you… then it’s a no go for me,” complete with red flag emojis to drive the point home.

Dogs Come First

Zimmerman’s fans were quick to respond, many joking that they’d easily win over his pups if given the chance. But the country star isn’t kidding — his dogs play a huge role in his life and relationships.

He became a “dog dad” after moving to Nashville in 2021, initially sharing Marley May, a golden retriever, with an ex-girlfriend.

After the breakup, Marley stayed with Zimmerman. Later, during time on the road, he felt Marley needed a companion.

That’s when Pie entered the picture.

“She’s so pretty,” Zimmerman recalled thinking after spotting Pie near a truck show in rural Tennessee.

The moment she gently rested her head on his shoulder, he knew she was coming home with him.

Pie’s early days weren’t easy.

She was soon diagnosed with parvo, a serious and sometimes fatal illness for dogs.

Zimmerman rushed her to emergency vets multiple times, doing everything he could to save her.

Fortunately, Pie made a full recovery and has since bonded with Marley May.

“Comin In Cold” Teaser Hints at New Album Direction

Though Zimmerman’s red flag revelation got fans talking, the Instagram post also served as a preview for his upcoming single, “Comin In Cold.” The gritty heartbreak track paints a picture of a woman who’s both irresistible and destructive — someone who keeps showing up and leaving emotional chaos behind.

Lyrics like, “She’s a little miss reckless / Train wreck in a red dress… She’s everything I want / And nothin’ that I need,” suggest the song will strike a chord with fans who love his raw, emotional storytelling.

Zimmerman revealed the song is one of his favorites from his next album, which he’s still keeping mostly under wraps.

What to Expect From the New Album

Following the release of “Backup Plan” with Luke Combs, Zimmerman’s next album has become highly anticipated. While there’s no official release date yet, he’s promised fans that it will be worth the wait.

“I want the album to be an artistic project,” he recently shared. “None of the songs feel the same… I just want people to really relate to and love it.”

Zimmerman also hinted that he’s putting more thought into lyrics and themes this time around, aiming for a more intentional and cohesive body of work.
