Kane Brown to Make Movie Debut in Romantic Comedy

Country music star Kane Brown is officially heading to Hollywood.
The award-winning singer is set to make his feature film debut in the upcoming romantic comedy, The Token Groomsman.
Brown will play the role of “Neil,” the best friend and voice of reason to Taylor Lautner’s character, Scott.
The storyline follows Scott as he travels to a lavish destination wedding in Italy with hopes of saving his career by networking with wealthy guests.
But everything changes when he unexpectedly falls for the bride’s sister, played by Modern Family star Sarah Hyland.
The film’s ensemble cast also includes Pirates of the Caribbean actor Brenton Thwaites and veteran actress Andie MacDowell.
It will be directed by Natalie Simpkins, who co-wrote the screenplay with John C. Hall and Sohale Andrus Mortazavi.
The Token Groomsman is being produced by Hall and Pam Renall for Retinue Media, with a nationwide release expected on more than 2,500 U.S. screens via The Fithian Group’s Attend platform. International sales are being managed by Radiant Films International.
Kane Brown’s jump into film comes after a guest-starring role on CBS’s Fire Country, where he portrayed a heroic train hopper.
Brown has previously expressed a desire to expand his creative career into acting, with particular interest in comedy and horror roles.
With The Token Groomsman, Kane Brown isn’t just adding “actor” to his resume—he’s setting the stage for a major crossover from country music to the silver screen.
