Listen Live

When Texas hurts, Texas shows up and last night, two of country music’s biggest legends did just that.

On Sunday, July 27th, George Strait headlined “Strait to the Heart”, an exclusive benefit concert for families devastated by the July 4th floods in the Texas Hill Country. Held at Estancia at Thunder Valley in Boerne, the invite-only show raised over $6.25 million (and still climbing!) and brought out one very special guest.

Garth. Brooks. Walked. Out.

Yep. The Garth Brooks surprised the crowd mid-show, joining George on stage for a fiery duet of “The Fireman” to honor first responders. Then, Garth stuck around for an emotional acoustic set that included “Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)”, leaving not a single dry eye in the room.

Talk about a moment for the country music history books.

A Night of Texas-Sized Talent

The night wasn’t just about the headliners it was a full celebration of Texas artists and community. Performers included:

  • Wade Bowen
  • Jamey Johnson
  • Riley Green
  • Dean Dillon
  • Kyle Park
  • William Beckmann
  • Ray Benson
  • Hudson Westbrook
    …and more.

Faith leader Max Lucado delivered an inspiring message of healing, and even Governor Abbott and Senator Ted Cruz attended in support of the cause.

All Heart, All Local

The event was created by George Strait and philanthropist Tom Cusick, with all proceeds going directly to flood victims through the Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund. These donations will support families rebuilding after losing everything from homes to loved ones following one of the deadliest floods in Texas history.
