The Country Music Association Awards has been a fixture in country music since its first show, which was untelevised, in 1967. The awards show has almost exclusively taken place in Nashville, aside from 2005’s show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Many musicians have etched their names into the history of the genre by the hearing their names called onstage and walking up to accept the trophy, a reward for their contributions in furthering the development of country music. While hundreds have won a CMA award, there’s a group of artists that audiences have heard their names called time and time again.
Here’s 32 country artists with the most CMA award wins in the show’s history, from 1967 through 2024.
