Paws for Heroes uses rescued shelter dogs and carefully evaluates and trains them to provide emotional support and companionship to veterans. Interacting with friendly and familiar dogs has been scientifically proven to reduce stress, blood pressure and decrease one’s heart rate, allowing muscles to relax. The impact these animals can have on our veterans is invaluable, and is mutually beneficial to both the individual and the animal.
