Harris County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said on Twitter that at around 10:50 p.m. Monday evening, HCSO deputies arrived at a home in Houston after reports of a disturbance. When they arrived, deputies found four adults with stab wounds.

HCSO identified the suspect as Manuel Alfredo Gutierrez, 25, according to KPRC.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that Gutierrez went out and came home intoxicated and armed with a pistol. He allegedly got into an argument with his sister and their parents tried to intervene. Instead of calming down, the argument escalated and became physical “with everyone obtaining knives.”

According to KPRC, HCSO said that each family member is expected to survive. Gutierrez was also injured.

Gutierrez has been booked on recommended charges of aggravated assault. Gutierrez was out on bond from a previous felony when this incident occurred, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
