Off-duty Alabama police officer accused of child abuse
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – An off-duty Alabama police officer is accused of child abuse, authorities said.
Horton Owens, 35, an officer with the Montgomery Police Department was arrested after the department was notified of charges against him by the Municipal Court Magistrate’s Office on Monday, WSFA reported.
Details of the allegations against Owens have not been released, AL.com reported.
Owens was placed on administrative leave, and disciplinary proceedings have begun, the website reported.
Owens has been with the Montgomery Police Department since 2018, WSFA reported.
