Three years after winning season four of American Idol, Carrie Underwood was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on this date (May 10) in 2008. Underwood was scheduled to perform on the Opry stage that night when she was interrupted by fellow Oklahoman, Garth Brooks, who delivered the good news to her.
