TAMPA, Fla. – Members of the Florida Highway Patrol have been kept busy all week because of demonstrations in downtown Tampa. On Friday, state troopers demonstrated another talent, helping a woman deliver a baby girl.

Troopers responded to a call and helped deliver the baby in the rain, WFTS reported.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, which posted the troopers’ efforts on Facebook and Twitter, said the troopers shielded the car with raincoats as the baby was delivered.

Troopers then gave mother and child an escort to an area hospital, according to the FLHSMV.

Officials did not share the baby’s name but did share pictures on social media of the delivery and the mother holding her child at the hospital.
