If you’re going to drive around Houston with a fake license plate, the general rule is this:

First of all. DON’T. But if you’re going to be a dingus, at least don’t make it memorable.

A Houston driver learned that lesson the hard way after police spotted a fake license plate that read “ILUVLATINAS.”

According to authorities, the plate was not issued by the state of Texas and did not belong to the vehicle it was attached to. Officers initiated a traffic stop because of the improper plate and quickly confirmed it was fraudulent.

At that point, the stop escalated from awkward to arrest-worthy.

Police say the fake license plate directly led to the driver being taken into custody, landing him behind bars — all because the plate caught their attention in the first place.

Sometimes it’s not speeding, reckless driving, or anything dramatic.

Sometimes it’s just advertising too much… in all caps… on a license plate that shouldn’t exist.

Don’t be a dingus.

We friends yet? We should be. @RiggsRadio all over the place. I follow back. If you’re reading this, you’re a real one.
