Oh, Florida. You never disappoint and always bring the dinguses…dingi. Dinguseses? Anyways.

A suspected burglary in Hialeah, Florida didn’t go quite as planned.

Police say Dean Young, 26, tried to break into a landscaping van on Wednesday — but ended up getting locked inside the vehicle instead.

Ring surveillance video shows Young getting out of his car, crossing the street and entering the truck. The van’s owner had locked the vehicle before beginning landscaping work nearby.

That’s when Young reportedly found himself trapped.

Video captured him screaming and kicking at the doors.

“Help me! I’m inside,” Young can be heard yelling.

Homeowner Nercy Toledo said Young was banging on the doors for a while and claiming he couldn’t breathe.

According to an arrest form, landscapers did not let Young out until police arrived. Toledo said there were machetes inside the truck and that releasing him could have posed a safety risk.

Young told police he had been handing out business cards when a dog chased him, and that he ran into the truck for protection. However, surveillance video showed a different sequence of events.

Police arrested Young on charges of:

  • Burglary
  • Criminal mischief

He is currently being held in jail. Young had previously been free on bail in another case. On Thursday, a judge set his bail at $1,500, but he remains in custody.
