Missouri Dingus Arrested After Breaking In to Eat Fruity Pebbles
A Missouri homeowner got a very unexpected guest in the kitchen — one who apparently came for breakfast.
A woman in Springfield, Missouri, was arrested after police say she broke into a home and started eating Fruity Pebbles in the family’s kitchen.
According to a probable cause statement, the incident came to light when a homeowner called police after her son walked into the kitchen and reported “there was a strange lady in the kitchen eating cereal.”

The boy had come downstairs after smelling something burning.
When he entered the kitchen, police say he saw the woman petting the family dog while the oven was turned on.
The homeowner confronted the woman and demanded that she clean up the mess she had made.
When officers arrived, they found milk and Fruity Pebbles scattered across the floor, and the kitchen reportedly had a burnt odor.
Police identified the suspect as Teara Joann Smith.
According to officers, Smith was not wearing pants, shoes or socks when they arrived and had a jacket tied around her waist. Police also said she appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was giggling and making nonsensical comments while they attempted to identify her.
The following day, Smith told investigators she had been walking around and believed the house was a “fair.”
According to police, Smith said she knocked on the door and rang the doorbell, heard something inside, and then walked into the residence.
Once inside, she said she was hungry and decided she wanted cereal.
Smith denied turning on the stove, saying it was already on when she entered the home. She also told investigators she had consumed marijuana prior to the incident.
Smith has been charged with first-degree burglary and has pleaded not guilty.
