According to WTOP, the incident occurred about 9:50 p.m. Sept. 25 at Silver Spring International Middle School. The Montgomery County Police Department said in a news release Thursday that investigators believe a white man in his 40s or 50s “forced entry into the school, stole items from classrooms and left the scene.”

Police went on to share footage from the scene, which appears to show a gray-haired man attempting to open doors inside the school, WTOP reported. The suspect, clad in a dark hoodie and gray pants, eventually looks up at a surveillance camera and waves, according to the news outlet.
